About

Borghese Lane runs towboats out of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, just below Pittsburgh. The company was organized in Pennsylvania in 2011, and Brian Mosesso is its president.
The fleet grew from 8 towboats to 15 between about 2016 and 2023, and runs 18 today. The work grew with it: line-haul tows down the Ohio, harbor moves in the Pittsburgh pools, and fleets at McKees Rocks and Hannibal, Ohio.
Every boat hails from Pittsburgh, PA. The office sits at 149 Nichol Avenue in McKees Rocks, at Ohio River mile 4, on the McKees Rocks Industrial Enterprises terminal. Crews work the three rivers that meet at the Point: the Ohio, the Monongahela, and the Allegheny.
In 2023 we donated training equipment to Mountwest Maritime Academy's new Ohio training site in Woodsfield, about ten minutes from the Hannibal Locks and Dam. New deckhands have to learn the work somewhere, and the river needs more of them.
Eighteen towboats. Dry-bulk cargo: coal, aggregates, and covered hoppers. Line-haul from Pittsburgh down the Ohio, and harbor and fleet work at four fleets from McKees Rocks to southern Indiana.
